The holy month of Ramadan is a season of reflection, gratitude, and, most importantly, community. While the fast tests one’s patience, the sunset brings more than just a meal; it brings the opportunity to share a table with those who remind us of the true spirit of giving.

Recently, we had the profound honor of hosting a Majlis Berbuka Puasa with the bright souls of Rumah Bakti Nur Syaheera. It was an evening that transcended a simple dinner, turning into a celebration of hope and shared humanity.

The Spirit of Togetherness

Located in Cheras, Rumah Bakti Nur Syaheera provides a sanctuary for orphans and underprivileged children, focusing on their education and spiritual well-being. Stepping into the hall, the atmosphere was immediately filled with the infectious energy of the children.

The event wasn’t just about the food it was about presence. Volunteers and guests sat side-by-side with the residents, exchanging stories and laughter as the minutes ticked down toward Maghrib.

More Than Just a Meal

Events like these serve as a gentle reminder that while we often focus on our own struggles, there is immense joy to be found in serving others. The children of Rumah Bakti Nur Syaheera, with their resilience and polite demeanor, often end up teaching the guests more about gratitude than any sermon could.

“The best house among the Muslims is the house in which an orphan is well treated.” — This sentiment was felt in every corner of the room that evening.
