M&E Project Engineer, Mechanical & Electrical

Job Description:

• Assist in planning and coordinating M&E works for the Large Scale Solar (LSS) project.
• Supervise solar PV installations, electrical systems, cabling, inverters, and transformers.
• Monitor site progress to ensure project timelines and quality standards are achieved.
• Review engineering drawings and resolve technical issues on-site.
• Conduct site inspections and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate testing, commissioning, and grid connection activities.
• Prepare project reports, inspection records, and handover documentation.
• Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and project teams to ensure smooth project execution.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Project Manager or Management.

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, or Mechatronics Engineering from a recognised university.
• Minimum 2–5 years of relevant experience in project engineering, construction supervision, or project management.
• Experience in Large Scale Solar (LSS) projects, high-voltage/medium-voltage substations, or large-scale power generation projects is an advantage.
• Registration with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) is an added advantage.
• Ability to read and interpret M&E drawings, single-line diagrams, and equipment datasheets.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Microsoft Project, and other project management tools.
• Strong analytical, technical troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication, coordination, and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to be based at the project site in Kuching, Sarawak.
• Willingness to work extended hours, weekends, or public holidays during critical project phases, including testing and commissioning.
